Ashley Dan CBE Doctoral Student Receives Stipend
Ashley Dan, a 4th year PhD student in the group of Prof. Ramachandran has received a $1,000 stipend as part of the RU School of Graduate Studies (SGS) conference travel program to support scholarly activities by presenting research at national and international scientific conferences. Ashley will be presenting her collaborative work with the Danish Technical University (DTU), Denmark on developing and implementing computationally efficient hybrid machine-learning and partial differential equation-based models to simulate the full dynamics of an extrusion process and benchmark it against a high-fidelity CFD simulation. The expected impact is to be able to use these efficient models for further process control and optimization. This work will be presented at the 9th European Congress on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences and Engineering (ECCOMAS CONGRESS 2024) in Lisbon, Portugal from June 3-7, 2024.
