Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Doctoral Student Receives RCEI Travel Support

Antonio DeChellis, a fourth year doctoral student in the group of Professor Shishir Chundawat received a $700 stipend from the Rutgers Climate and Energy Institute (RCEI) Student Support Fund. This funding supported Antonio for his travel to the 2024 Biophysical Society annual meeting in Philadelphia, PA.

DeChellis was able to present his work focused on engineering cellulolytic enzymes that was recently published (https://doi.org/10.1021/acssuschemeng.3c06266) and the subsequent biophysical characterization of these successful enzymes done in collaboration with current and graduated Chemical and Biochemical Engineering doctoral students Ryan Murphy and Dr. Markus Hackl, as well as visiting student Gokulnath Ganesan (IIT Madras).
