Mohit Kumar CBE Doctoral Student Receives SGS Travel Award
Mohit Kumar, a PhD student in the group of Prof. Chundawat, has been awarded a $500 stipend from the RU School of Graduate Studies (SGS) for the Research & Travel Award program, supporting participation in key scientific conferences. This funding will assist Mohit in presenting his collaborative work with Dartmouth College, New Hampshire on advancing glycosynthase engineering for oligosaccharide synthesis with azido sugars leveraging transition state stabilization at the 68th Annual Biophysical Society (BPS) meeting, 2024 in Philadelphia. His research aims to improve oligosaccharide synthesis efficiency through enzyme engineering and promises advancements in glycoscience, with broader implications for biotechnology and medicine, particularly in the synthesis of Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs), which are crucial for neonatal health.
